We are splitting the class into two groups for art, providing more hands to assist with procedures and fine motor skills. This quarter the children are working with paper, glue, and crayons. The rising kindergartners are going to art with the Title I prek class; then they have handwriting activities during our regular art time. The younger children are using picture cues to help them answer questions about the activity. All of the activities involve identifying colors, numbers, and shapes, as well as listening to a less familiar adult, waiting for a turn, and following one- and two-step directions. We have been creating vehicles that sync with our transportation unit. In March we will be making items that correlate with our spring/insect unit.
